Seevaga Sinthamani is one of the five great epics in Tamil literature. This abridged version is designed for easy reading and is also suitable for students and children. The epic narrates the story of Seevagan, the king of Emaangada Nadu. In this story Seevagan was compared with sinthamani, a gemstone that gives anything one asks for. The story also highlights social customs, religious rites and traditions observed by the of that era. இந்நூல் ஐம்பெருங்காப்பியங்களில் ஒன்றான சீவக சிந்தாமணியின் சுருக்கப்பட்ட வடிவமாகும். இது மாணவர்களும் குழந்தைகளும் வாசிக்க எளிதான வகையில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது ஏமாங்கத நாட்டின் அரசனான சீவகனைப் பற்றிய கதையாகும். இக்கதையில் சீவகன் கேட்டதைக் கொடுக்கும் தேவலோகத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு மணியான சிந்தாமணியுடன் ஒப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளான். அக்காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த மக்களின் பண்பாடு, பழக்க வழக்கம், போன்றவற்றையும் இக்கதை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது.
